This event will feature Victor Luckerson, the author of the award-winning book Built from the Fire, in conversation with Dr. Brandy Thomas Wells (History), the founder-editor of the digital humanities project, Women of Black Wall Street. The talk will address gendered components of historic Greenwood, from the role masculinity played in Black and White men's responses to Dick Rowland's arrest to experiences of Black women during the attack. It also emphasizes the entrepreneurial and activist endeavors of female community members. This is a “Lunch & Learn” event, and an RSVP will be required. More info coming soon!
