About this Event
OSU’s Annual Grant Proposal Writing Workshops
Register by Wednesday, September 3, 2025
Dr. John Robertson from Grant Writers’ Seminars and Workshops will deliver two separate workshops in late September to OSU-Stillwater, OSU-Tulsa, and OSU Center for Health Sciences faculty members. Grant Writers’ Seminars and Workshops was founded by academicians, for academicians to help researchers obtain formal training in how to support their work with grant proposal writing. OSU has sponsored this presentation annually for more than 20 years for the benefit of its research faculty.
The first workshop will be held all day on Monday, September 22 and will be "Write Winning Grant Proposals for NSF." This seminar will be presented in-person. Attending the full day is critical for maximal understanding and future usage of the directed writing approach. Emphasis is placed on doing the “extra” things that can make the difference between being funded versus not. This workshop will focus exclusively on how to prepare a research proposal to the National Science Foundation (NSF). Participants will be taught to write with a linear progression of logic, which leads reviewers through an application without them knowing that they are being led.
The second workshop will be held all day on Tuesday, September 23 and will be "Write Winning Grant Proposals for Any Agency." This seminar will be presented in-person. Attending the full day is critical for maximal understanding and future usage of the directed writing approach. Emphasis is placed on doing the “extra” things that can make the difference between being funded versus not. Regardless of the target agency, participants will be taught to write with a linear progression of logic, which leads reviewers through an application without them knowing that they are being led. Although the seminar will focus on proposal writing for several federal agencies, the content will be relevant and usable for individuals applying to all funding entities (e.g., private foundations, professional organizations, and state/other federal agencies).
For both workshops, participants will receive an extensive handout and a copy of a grant-writing workbook.
These workshops are open to faculty members at any career stage and post-docs. Advanced registration is required, and participation is limited. YOU MAY REGISTER FOR ONLY ONE WORKSHOP.
